

Concert & Cake Julia Metzmacher, Piano is a half German half South African pianist. She studied piano solo at the Freiburg University of Music and completed a Master's degree in Performance in Collaborative Piano at the Royal College of Music in London. Her teachers have included Nicholas Rimmer, Kathron Sturrock, Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles.
In the course of her musical career, Julia has gained experience both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Festivals such as Songfestival, the Collaborative Piano Institute and the Franz Schubert Institute have strengthened her knowledge of song interpretation. In 2023, she was allowed to play several concerts as an orchestral pianist as part of the BBC scheme. She has received much recognition in all competitions, including the English Competition at the RCM and received a pianist prize.
Since 2024 she has been studying concert exams at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she is taught by Julius Drake and Gareth Owen.
